Philadelphia’s traveling beer garden is back in action—and coming to a park near you!
Parks on Tap is bigger and better than ever in its third year. This spring and summer, the pop-up party is heading to 23 city parks—several more sites than last season—including four locations right near your Dalian on the Park apartment.
What exactly is Parks on Tap? The event is organized by the city and Four Corners Management and travels to public parks all across Philly from April to September. Visitors can enjoy a beer garden, gourmet food, lawn games, live music and more. Proceeds from the event go back to the host park, making it an innovative concept that invests in local communities.
Parks on Tap is open Wednesday-Sunday and provides an excellent opportunity to enjoy the sunshine in Philly’s green spaces—all while sipping, snacking and socializing! Each site offers a unique opportunity to see the city’s parks and neighborhoods, but if you don’t want to travel too far from home, you’re in luck!
Your first opportunity to catch Parks on Tap near us is at Matthias Baldwin Park, just two blocks from your Dalian on the Park apartment, from June 6-10. This is a return engagement for the park, which hosted Parks on Tap last summer to great success. Enjoy a brew and some views amid the shade and winding paths of the leafy park. From July 11-15, head over to Glendinning Rock Garden in Fairmount Park, about 1.5 miles from your Dalian on the Park apartment. The park is located right off of busy Kelly Drive but, with Parks on Tap’s setting—cavernous canopies, comfy chairs and twinkling lights that illuminate the park at night—partiers will forget they’re right in the middle of the city!
In August, locals have two chances to experience Parks on Tap in historic locations: at Mt. Pleasant Mansion from Aug. 1-5 and Lemon Hill Mansion from Aug. 15-19. At the first spot, about 2.5 miles from your Dalian on the Park apartment, visitors can enjoy views of the 18th-century architecture with the backdrop of the Schuylkill River. At Lemon Hill, about 1.5 miles from your Dalian on the Park apartment, the grounds are just as interesting as the architecture, while the food and drinks at Parks on Tap are equally impressive!
Hope to see you there!
