Beach weather will be here before we know it. As much as the sun and the surf have been sorely missed by most, beach season also means bathing suit time, which is daunting for many.
Eating healthier is a way to shed a few pounds, but toning up can also make you feel and look better, and cut off the tags on your new suit with confidence. Hitting Dalian’s private gym is a great place to start, but if running on the treadmill isn’t your thing, try these local workout options that each offer something a bit off the beaten path of exercise.
Mindful Elephant Yoga Studio — Yoga is not only good for relaxation, it’s also effective at muscle strengthening. Mindful Elephant, just one block from your Dalian on the Park apartment, offers daily classes for yoga practitioners of all shapes, sizes and skill levels. Styles include Kripalu, Hatha, Vinyasa, Strala and more, with classes themed around restoration, basic skill-building and relaxation.
Studio 1831 — Yoga is just one of the offerings at Studio 1831, three blocks from your Dalian on the Park apartment. The multi-faceted venue also offers belly dance, burlesque, fitness and pilates classes. Studio 1831 is a popular site for girls’ night out, though men are also welcome to try their hands (or feet!) at the different classes.
Roots Athletics — Diversity is also the name of the game at Roots Athletics. Located six blocks from your Dalian on the Park apartment, Roots features a wide range of programs to get you beach-ready in no time, from Thai boxing to functional interval training and Brazilian jiu jitsu. The martial-arts approach will have you focusing on your athletic goals without even realizing you’re building both strength and confidence.
