With their intricate architecture and spectacular views of the city, the historic homes of Fairmount Park are beautiful at any time of the year. During the holidays, however, the houses are quite a sight to behold — and locals now have the opportunity to do just that.
Five Fairmount Park gems are participating in A Very Philly Christmas, a series of music, food and community events that showcase the magic of the mansions at the holidays. Among the venues is Lemon Hill, just 1.5 miles from your Dalian on the Park apartment.
For two weekends in December, the five homes, which will be decked out with lights, trees and garland, open their doors to help Philly ring in the holidays. Catch one event or visit them all to see the city’s history in a new light!
Here are the highlights:
Sounds of the Season: From orchestra to jazz, holiday music will fill the halls of the historic homes on Dec. 2. Each venue will feature a different concert and each is sure to impress, with a lineup that includes renowned musicians like Opera Philadelphia and Choral Arts Philadelphia.
Family Day: Take the little ones in your life to one of the Dec. 3 events, which include a meet-and-greet with Santa, holiday activities and lots of sweet treats, like hot chocolate and candy canes. Free admission to kids under 12.
Neighbor’s Day: Come mix and mingle with your neighbors Dec. 9, as each home will feature entertainment by community performers.
Flavors of the Season: Bring your appetite Dec. 10 for a day of culinary creations. Watch food demonstrations from some of the city’s leading chefs and then dig in afterwards for seasonal samples.
